Should i jump - fixed rate isa question . 8th Feb 18 at 11:42 AM
Have 30k in Halifax bank 2 year fix paying 1.25% which matures 1st march 2018 .
I want to change to a one year fix but Halifax rate is 0.5% .
Have been watching the best one year fixed rates and at the moment post office and leeds building society are the best at 1.45% .
I was thinking about the post office but it gets bad reports by forum members on their customer services and delays in transfers of money .
Maybe I would get better service from the leeds .
Should I wait until 1st march and my interest is safely in the Halifax account then decide where I am going as maybe some other company will appear at the last moment and offer a even better interest rate .
Or should I let money lie dormant in the Halifax account and wait until april 5th [ new tax year ] to see if better rates are offered .

You seem to have done your research and know what your options are.
The only doubtful issue is higher rates being offered nearer to the ISA season start. Vey unlikely these days.
