How long to wait on new build repairs? 11th Jan 18 at 4:35 PM
What would you see as an acceptable time to wait on a builder to repair bits in a new build e.g. inspect a roof as had some grouting on ground, fix internal doors that don't close fully, cracked tile in shower etc.

    Many thanks

Depends on the developer. Some are better than others.

When did you provide the snagging list?

Be coming up a month now. I dont want to seem overly annoying. I just like things done ASAP.

Ours was like any other repairs in the building, up to 28 days. I would call and asked what is happening, this is your property and you want it in good condition - that what you have paid for.

If they haven't acknowledged your snagging list, get in touch with the developer yourself again. If they have, at some point or another the conversation dropped. You need to re-ignite it.

I've found that there's someone in the developers local area (maybe not site-specific) tasked with managing repairs/snags. Once you get their details, you can email/call them until you receive a response.

I'm with Taylor Wimpey and have waited the better part of 2 months. Our case is a little different (had to be a weekend) and Christmas was in the middle. Otherwise we've found them to be quite fair and helpful.

Is work still ongoing on the development? My BIL found that when that was the case snagging was done within a few days, presumably because the trades were on site still. After the whole developing was finished that wait extended to well over a month.

I'd be chasing it up tbh, if you haven't already done so.

Got onto them again. I didn't want to sound OTT.

    Have a good day.
