Tax Return, Money Owed 9th Jan 18 at 1:04 PM
I submitted my tax return for accounts 2016/2017 to HRMC. There seems to be a discrepancy between money owed my the account, and the total calculation generated from the return.

I owed nothing on account prior to submitting the return but the balance of my account is £XXX more than I was expecting while the returns total calculation is less....

I can’t see any justification for this, unless I have missed something I’m sure it is correct, but it is strange it doesn’t correlate to the returns total calculation?

I should I query this with a HMRC Tax advisor?….

Have to say I am confused as to what you mean. Some figures would be useful.

Could it be that payments on account for 17/18 are needed as you owe more than £1000 for 16/17?
