    Multiple balance transfer applications

Multiple balance transfer applications 9th Jan 18 at 10:23 AM
My wife and I have debt spread over several credit cards.

I used the MSE eligibility checker and we're pre-approved or 95% for all of the longest 0%/lowest-fee cards.

But one balance transfer won't be enough (from past experience of balance transfers, I can guess how much limit they'll give us and it's only about 40% of what we need).

Is it safe for us to each apply for a card within the space of a week? I'm not sure whether it affects my chances of getting a good balance transfer if my wife has just had one?

Should we apply for both at the same time? If it takes a while for the search to appear on our files then it wouldn't be an issue... But is it instant?

I'd be surprised if you applying affects your wife's percentage for likelihood of acceptability as it's an individual application.

I'd suggest doing them both together anyway, that's what I've done in the past without any issues.
