Cheap International Calls 7th Jan 18 at 5:52 PM
There seem to be several companies offering free international phone calls to users whose landline phone package includes 0870 numbers. But I can see no mention of this in the MSE 'Cheap UK and International Calls' guide. Is it just hopelessly out of date, or are these companies not all they seem? Has anyone used them and successfully made free calls abroad?

There are many third-party providers offering international dial-through services on a variety of 03, 08 or 09 numbers. If the number is inclusive in allowances, there are no further charges incurred on your phone bill for these calls. If the calls are not included in allowances, calls to 084, 087 or 09 numbers can be very expensive and not worth doing this way.

MSE used to have an online tool detailing a vast number of such dial-through providers. However, after Ofcom changed the way that 084, 087 and 09 calls are charged (on 1 July 2015), there were no further updates made to it. The tool showed incorrect call charges and became further and further out of date. A couple of years later, it was simply removed.

Its to do with the sheer volume of dial through numbers and the fact they come and go constantly
