New kitchen from Wickes 3rd Jan 18 at 8:33 PM
    Hi,

Hope this in the right forum.

I am having Wickes visit tomorrow to measure up for a kitchen, I know the one I want and my budget, does anyone have any suggestions what type of questions the salesman will ask and how to handle them? Also how is best to haggle?

Wickes compete with Trade-point, Howdens, and a few others so get comparisons. It doesn't matter is you are set on the Wickes ones, the others give you ammunition to price by.

Tell him you are getting a quote from Benchmarx(or Travis Perkins) from a builder friend. All 3 are supplied by the same manufacturer, but trade only at Benchmarkx and Travis so the price would be cheaper, hence the need for the "builder friend"

You can also get a quote from the above 2 if you talk to them nicely, they will normally manage a way round the "trade Only" rules. But you would need to source your own fittter or DIY.

Benchmarx may not currently be cheaper. Unlike some others Wickes are quite transparent in their pricing so it is easy to see what you are paying for.

Would always suggest getting two or more quotes though.
