Morning everyone, that's 3 days work done and have 2 days off now. It was freezing here yesterday, the wind factor didn't help.I have already been to local shops for a few bits and made appointment to have hair cut tomorrow. Sorry to hear you have to wait for coroners report ff, i know what that is like. Hopefully it won't take too long before they get back to you.Glad to hear you had a good time at the party rose.
Sheils it must be frustrating for your dad to have the op and then wait again for another one. Hopefully it will all be sorted with the other one. Glad to hear you had a good break away. I didn't know Vera was back on till a resident mentioned it. I will have to play catch up with it as i do like Vera.
Hope everyone has a lucky day..

Very cold and dull here too.

Alfie DD1 now has heating fixed late yesterday afternoon. She lives in a very small house which was a new build four years ago when they move in. no apology yet. Still now they have heating thank goodness as the least time from here to there is half an hour and with traffic so much longer and she has to go to work and GS to school.

Firefly sorry to hear of the delays. Since the Shipman case everything seems to take longer.

Shells great you had a good break. So sorry to hear your father has to have second operation. Sounded really cold in Glasgow.

Happy New Year McCulloch. Great to hear you made it home on your great scooter. Hope they send you lots of things to review.

Indie enjoy your days off. I had the shingles jab yesterday and so far no reaction.

Stay warm and be lucky everyone.

Hi everyone popping by to say a belated hello and hope you've all enjoyed the festivities. Hope it's a lucky new year for comps xx

Fire**fly, I've just been reading back and I'm so sorry for your loss ((hugs)) xx hope you get the coroners report soon xx

Glad your dad finally had his op Sheils and hope he gets the stent in soon too xx Lots of ops have been cancelled here as that Aussie flu seems to have taken over the area.

Did you get your decorating done in the end Alfie? I got mine done a few days before Xmas and I hate it! The carpet which I had for over a year before I laid it is too stripey now and it clashes with wallpaper! I'm thinking of re-decorating! I also thought the same as you and decided to get a new tree, only I got the one with the fake snow which ended up everywhere! I'm glad I kept my old one!

Leanfun, that made me chuckle about the driver thinking it was cat food!

I'm off to bed, hope to speak soon! Xx
Big thanks to all who contribute to the forums. Be lucky everyone!

Been serious fog here but it is starting to lift now so maybe get out for a walk later. Looks like DD will be appearing as her Wifi is off - BT has been already but needs someone else as looks like fault is out on road.
She has an essay to do for next week and needs to put in links supporting what she is saying so needs the internet.

Our area has been really bad with the flu as well wingo. It was one of the first areas to get it. Shame you don't like your decorating, expensive enough to do if you like it never mind when you don't.

    Good luck everyone

    Hellooeee everyone

Hope you're all ok - it's a glorious sunny day here - actually
    fairly warm too (thank goodness).

I had an early hygienist appointment this morning (toothy pegs
all polished and sparkling now) & then spent a couple of hours at
a lovely village nearby, browsing around the quaint shops and
    generally enjoying the sunshine.

Did anyone watch 'School for Stammerers' yesterday evening on
ITV? I thought it was excellent - had tears in my eyes, especially
towards the end. All those involved did incredibly well.

I hate the sound of this Aussie flu doing the rounds at the mo
    wingo/sheils. Sounds dreadful!

Happy New Year mcculloch29. Great that 'Rossa' got you
back home safely and in one piece. As you so rightly say - he
was the best prize ever. I hate it when pavements are icy - I'm
always so fearful of slipping over.

Crikey - your neighbour must be like an iron man rose - out
cleaning his car yesterday dressed in a t-shirt! Brrrrrr & double
    brrrrrrr!

Did you get your decorating done in the end Alfie? I got mine done a few days before Xmas and I hate it! The carpet which I had for over a year before I laid it is too stripey now and it clashes with wallpaper! I'm thinking of re-decorating! before Xmas in the end. Still ongoing. I'm more than happy
with the walls, need to finish painting the woodwork. Really
not happy with my MSE attempt to save a bit of
money and trying to revamp my three wooden curtain poles in
    the lounge.

They just look awful! I resprayed them antique white (had to
do them in the garage) and not very happy with the finish -
so have been looking for some replacements. I've actually had
them for approx 30 years and this is their 3rd makeover so
maybe it's time for new ones.

On the up side - I bought two cream rugs from B&Q and I love
    them. They're a decent size (approx 4' x 5'2") and were an
excellent price (£28.00 each) - good quality too. Perfect for
laying over the worn parts of my ancient carpet (another thing
to add to my 'items to purchase' list)! Room looks lovely and
cozy now. Puddy cat though is highly suspicious of the rugs
    and tiptoes around them!

As for my very old and poorly Xmas tree with the broken
branch - he was sent on his way (via the tip) so will be on the
lookout for a new one come November/December.

Time for a cuppa me thinks! Have a lovely rest of the day
    all - take care.

Evening peeps. It has been a quick day today. Neighbour kept me busy. Her son was bringing his new girlfriend to meet them. She wanted my recipe for Minestrone soup. Gave her it and she got the things she needed in from the shop. Do not know what she did to it but it was awfull so ran up and made a pot for her. Also gave her recipe for carbonarra so hope that turned out ok. I am down with a bit of lemon meringue pie which I am going to have later with a cuppa. Bit damp here tonight but still cold. Hope everyone has a nice evening.

hope DD got her essay done sheils & internet is sorted x

Morning everyone. Damp and cold here this morning. Need to get slow cooker on this morning. GK's want soup. So once butcher opens at 8am and I can get ham ribs for stock that will be under way. Wingo I don't mind decorating but I have really high ceilings so it is better nowadays that I get someone in although I can do around doors and skirtong boards. It is expensive once you start as you tend to spot things that could do with replacing etc. Alfie glad you had a nice time yesterday and dental apointment went ok. FF hope you get some better weather today and you are not too stressed with arrangements or lack of them. Take care. Love and luck to all.

    Good Morning,

Feeling cold here at the moment but supposed to be a nice day later.
DD got some of her essay done and BT got her internet back on which was good (and surprising)
I was busy cooking for the freezer yesterday as will be picking DS3 up on Sunday and will be having few people for meals over the next week.
Making some soup today too rose and going to freeze some for next week too as heading off to Stirling tomorrow.
Hope everyone has a lucky day.

    Good morning everyone

I haven't had a good start to the day here - not once but
twice I've accidentally deleted my posts on here so
hoping this one is third time lucky and I'm definitely saving
    it as I go along!

Crikes rose - you were mega busy yesterday! Feel so sorry
for your neighbour with her failed attempt at following your
Minestrone soup recipe! Thankfully you saved the
day. Hope you enjoyed your slice of Lemon Meringue
Pie - it's always been a fav of mine.

So pleased that BT got your DDs internet up and running
again sheils. Sounds as if you were also busy yesterday -
cooking and stocking up the freezer.

Have a wonderful Xmas dinner next week with
    DS3 and family. xx

It's looking a bit gloomy outside at the mo but still fairly mild
again this morning so may wander out and crack on with a
bit more gardening later on today while the weather is half
    decent.

I received the 'Big Garden Birdwatch' pack t'other day & they've
included two recipes - Bird Cake (for birdies ) and
Birdwatch bites (for me ). Must admit - the bites look and
sound scrumptious so will be making a batch to nibble on while
    I'm doing my birdwatching hour.

I've also decided to do Sugar-Free February together with
a motley crew from the Betty thread.

I've chosen to give up chocolate. Others are giving up various
sugary food items ... including our lovely Colin who eventually
succumbed to a weeny bit of peer pressure and
is now giving up biccies for the duration of February.

I know exactly what you mean fire**fly about cats disliking
anything new or different until they get used to it. I quite
    often get the look!

Have a lovely and lucky day all and please take care
    whatever your plans.

Morning peeps. Another cold damp one here. Was going to head out this morning to do a food shop but have decided to do it online. Freezer is pretty full so only need to fill cupboards and buy cleaning products and fruit and veg. I have had a hankering for some chicken noodle soup with dumplings so may make some later. Ds took away soup I had made and I only kept enough for a plate for me. Hope the weather does not turn too bad for you shiels if you are heading for Stirling. Where else are you off too on your trip? Off to make a cuppa and a bacon roll as I am a tad hungry this morning. Take care.

Hope you're all ok. Have a safe journey today sheils. xx

Thankfully it's still fairly mild down my way rose. Enjoyed

afternoon - will be out there again today weather
    permitting.
