    With so many folk having fit-bit type devices (or similar) and keeping a note of how far they have walked or run each day I start this thread as an open challenge to record your distances.

    No specific target this year, just set your own.

    Whether you will be walking, running, cycling or swimming I hope that you will use this thread to keep us updated on your progress.
    Use the thread as a way to encourage others to keep moving and to get motivation yourself.

    It is good to have a target to aim for but don't over stretch yourself so much that you either get disappointed in your own progress or find that you have too much to make up after coming back from a holiday or extra work having cut back your miles.

    I say miles simply because I am old and still measure that way but your own personal challenge could be anything from miles, kilometers, laps, steps etc.

    Day 1 - 27,024 steps. Day 2 - 24,000 steps. Day 3 - 18,554 Day 4 -13,207 Day 5 - 14,218 Day 6 - 27,238 Day 7 - 13,000. Total 137,241

    Sadly I am 2,760 short!

    The end of my first week....
    Total miles 41.8
    Total steps 98,773
    So the 10,000 steps a day has been smashed....so I am not going to record that anymore, as long as I go over the 10k each day.
    To do the 2018 in the year, I have to average 5.53 miles per day, and this weeks total averages out at 5.61 miles, so only just on target.
    I did have 2 bad days....one full of cold and one where I had to travel, so could not go walking, but it is now clear to me, that if I am going to achieve what I said, I will have to up my game somewhat

    Well done some great achievements this week, I didnt quite make my target, 0.76ml short of 20mls, it was just so cold out there - car thermometer showed -2 deg, then there was the wind chill factor as well I ended up with an aching head, next week will be better supposed to get up to 7 deg

    I managed 30.2 miles last week (up to Saturday).

    10,806 steps yesterday (4.3 miles) but only 9,146 today, so I need to up my totals for the rest of the week. I'm back at work though, so I will be content with 25 or 26 miles this week.

    managed 83,057 steps last week - 38.99 miles . Nowhere near what i wanted but least am sticking to it. weather was -8 today when i left for work and had planned to go out before i started ... did get just over the 14,000 steps tho which is the set goal on my fitbit. just need to wrap up really warm and rack up the steps tomorrow :P

    I have my first weeks stats in and I got 44.17 miles

    Was hoping to reach the 50 mile mark but happy with what I achieved.
    Make £10 a day challenge 2018 Jan/£117.16
    Walk 2000 miles in 2017....1780.35 miles
    Walk 2018 miles in 2018...57.83 miles

    Take part in 2 trail marathon + 1 ultra trail marathon + 1 marathon for best PR + total mileage of 2000 ( may be 2018 :P )

    I'm aiming for 50 km per day with my cycle.I'm a little bit lazy.but I'm addicted to riding the cycle and wanna enjoy adventures.and also want to lose my weight.

    Well, I've walked 29.2 miles this week. I was aiming for 25 miles, so I'm quite happy. Somehow I managed to do 14232 steps at work on Thursday, which probably helped!

    Well, I've walked 29.2 miles this week. I was aiming for 25 miles, so I'm quite happy. Somehow I managed to do 14232 steps at work on Thursday, which probably helped!

    I'm still aiming for 8000 steps a day, but the overall aim has changed to 1000 miles in the year. So not sure of my weekly steps but during the first week of the year I was at 27.69 miles, I'll calculate this weeks just before bed tomorrow night
