CPM Parking North Middlesex Hospital 14th Dec 17 at 7:41 PM
    Hi All

I am posting this thread as I would like some help on a parking charge Notice we received.
The driver was driving to North Middlesex hospital in London and was oblivious to the signs as they parked in the disabled bay and put the disabled badge in the window with the 3 hours time thinking it would be fine.
We received the parking charge so I decided to go and check the sign post out to see what it said in regards to the disabled bay.
There is a sign post which says blue badge holder, please show your badge to the reception upon entry to qualify for free parking.
As the driver was concerned about her father due to having dementia and very bad gout they was rushing to get him in to the hospital.
I now believe that in the coming days my mother in law has now received 3-4 more tickets as she has been parking in the disabled bays with him and using the badge however not been reading the sign to go to reception.
Is there any way we can appeal these tickets or should we pay the fines.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

she needs to contact PALS asap and explain the circumstances as an OCCUPANT OF THE VEHICLE and get PALS to cancel each and every pcn

this is by far the best option to get these cancelled, by the trust themselves

the keeper needs these cancellations in writing

the NEWBIES FAQ sticky thread has a black text template if the keeper is going to appeal

but a PALS cancellaltion is the best option here

Everyone is politely asked to read up on this in the newbies faq thread before starting a new thread

Read up there now to learn about this

Throughout you are advised never to reveal who was driving so edit your post to remove details of who was driving

The ppcs monitor here and can use your posts against you

Thanks sorry for the new thread as I am unsure on these websites.
Would anyone have the details of PALS for north Middlesex hospital or do I have to go in to the hospital and speak with them.

    Thanks

no problem in opening a new thread, it was the correct thing to do in this case, but we would hope that people have done some research first by reading that NEWBIES FAQ sticky thread

usually a hospital website has the PALS details on it , so have you tried their website or google search ? (or phone the trust switchboard ?)

You do realise that if PALS won't cancel it, UKCPM certainly wont and you'll have to defend a court claim? We do see posters win them 99% of the time when well-defended and coached by us with our 'groupthink' (description from a poster said the other week!).

There is no appeal worth trying so DO NOT be fobbed off by PALS telling you to 'appeal'.

Just checking as you seem to think this is all over. It's not (unless PALS cancel it). Nor will any regular here tell you to pay!
PRIVATE PCN? DON'T PAY BUT DO NOT IGNORE IT TWO Clicks needed for advice:
Top of the page: Home>>Forums>Household & Travel>Motoring>Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking - read the 'NEWBIES' FAQS thread!
Advice to ignore is WRONG, unless in Scotland/NI.

Response from North Middlesex Hospital 2 years ago
Thank you for sending your comments regarding car parking charges. The car parking service is run by an outside company and the Trust does not have any control over the car parking charges. The costs are in line with other Trusts. Please email me david.sowoola@nhs.net so that I can provide you with more information.

Hi cossied, I had an identical situation where I assisted someone who was in the same situation. They had been parking at North Middlesex Hospital for many years (also a Blue Badge holder) and had received a PCM through the post.

I got in touch with PALS who mentioned that I would have to contact UKCPM in order to get the ticket cancelled. As from previous and current experiences, knowing how ruthless and unsympathetic companies are, it was highly unlikely that the ticket would be cancelled.

However, I sent a letter to UKCPM stating that the driver had been parking there for many years displaying their Blue Badge without encountering any issues previously, and asking them to elaborate how the vehicle was parked "in a manner whereby the driver became liable for a parking charge", they CANCELLED THE TICKET = SUCCESS

It's also worth noting that I had scanned the front and back of the Blue Badge and sent that accompanying with their initial PCM letter.

Hope this helps... It's reassuring that there are rare cases where common sense prevails with such companies.

Note: This was written on the response to me that may be helpful:

"As of November 2017, North Middlesex University Hospital is an ANPR operated site, therefore displaying your Blue Badge is no longer applicable and you must register you vehicle details and Blue Badge number with reception on arrival to qualify for free parking. Your Blue Badge number can only be registered against one vehicle, therefore if you arrive in a different vehicle please ensure you provide the reception staff with the new vehicle details. This will replace your previously registered vehicle."
