It's a rather short list and I'm not quite sure how to define "Best" as what's best will vary depending on circumstances.

I.E. Barclaycard are the spawn of the devil and I wouldn't go near them. It doesn't make them the worst, just in my eyes they are the worst.

    How did you choose them?
Interesting that you have three suppliers from the same from - Lloyds, Halifax and MBNA.

Personally I find MBNA great for high limits but got to love the clarity card from Halifax

you missed my favourite which is tesco.

Reason is tesco honour the promotional rate outside of the first 60 days.

Starting limits for each provider as a new customer on first card (no history) were.

Barclays £3750 (however after a matter of weeks I requested an increase which was auto approved to £4.8k).
    Tesco £4300
    Virgin money £5400
MBNA £5900 (ironic given they didnt approve me for best card a month earlier).

Capital one starting limit was £200 however is now £6400 after several auto increases. (I also had a much poorer credit record at the time I applied for this and much lower income).

I quite liked the Anerican Express Platinum Chargecard for a shedload of Avios, travel insurance and airport lounge access.

And pro-rata fee refund once my doctor told me not to fly anymore.

But as they're not part of your poll I won't go on about it.

I always vote for the underdog, so I've just given Cap One a point, as no one had voted for them.

Out of poll I would say Barclaycard are the best. However I prefer my Creation every day card or BA card for rewards.

None of those on the list.

The one and only issuer I've never had a problem with is New Day, issuer of Aqua and several store cards. I would have said American Express but after the fiasco of having to pay the full balance on my Amex Platinum they hit the skids!
