cancelled hotel 4th Dec 17 at 8:06 PM
hi..... don't know if i am on the right forum ( i'm a newbe ) i am currently fighting the corner of two friends of mine, They have had a holiday booked through a travel agent with Thomas Cook for over 1 year. The travel agent has sent an email to inform them that they cannot stay at the hotel they have booked, no apologies, no explanation. The travel agents have booked them into another hotel complex which is a bus or taxi journey to the resort they had originally booked to stay. My friend is an invalid and is wheelchair bound, and the hotel is not wheelchair friendly ( no lifts and hills ) the original which they have been going to for the last 10 years ( through Thomas Cook ) have rooms which are ideal for my friend, large and easy access. Also my friend has used a voucher for 25 years service at the NHS to pay the deposit. Does anyone know if my friends have any chance of claiming any money back.
    cheers

if what is booked is no not available then a full refund should be available,

However another option could be to book the hotel you want direct and not lose the flights with Thomas cook?

If the hotel is a downgrade by one full tour operator rating it's a significant change and they can get a full refund.

If it is a package you can only cancel the complete booking. It's not possible to keep the flights.
