Renewal - single car incident as a named driver 4th Dec 17 at 12:31 PM
Sorry for the second thread today! I'm looking at quotes and a bit confused. I had 5 years NCD on my last policy. However, I am also a named driver on my husband's company car. I recently had an incident where I reversed into the wheelie bins which we backed against our house. This caused buckling to the tailgate in my husband's company car and the whole tailgate had to be replaced to the tune of 1k. The claim was processed and settled and the repairs were carried out - case closed.

I didn't tell my own insurer at the time as I was under the impression that I had to declare at renewal. Question is, do I now lose my NCD seeing as I had a single car accident on another person's/company's policy? My NCD on my own car was not protected. I can't seem to find any info online and my insurer hasn't got a Scooby!

    Your NCD is safe

But you do need to disclose this claim as part of your claims history when renewing or getting quotes.

Insurers usually ask for your history over the last 4/5 years
