    What are the stereotypes of certain bank customers in your opinions I.e

    * NatWest for elderly people
    * Lloyds for young people
    * barclays for wealthy people
    * HSBC for the Asian community
    * nationwide for people who think they are above everyone else
    * Halifax for those who want to be different

    They're all mass market banks with a wide variety of customers. I don't really have stereotypes for them.

    I think every bank and building society would have a mixture of those stereotypes. I personally don't feel any of them are accurate...

    What a bizarre question??!
    I just assumed people banked with whomever they opened their account with when younger.. So whoever had the best student deal at the time!
    Thanks to all who post here

    Surely anyone who wants to be different has Tesco Bank or another of the challenger banks.

    - Natwest for English people who want to move to Scotland
    - Lloyds for cigar smoking brandy drinkers
    - Barclays for older people who bemoan the end of the Access credit card
    - HSBC for those who think they might move to an Asian country if they win the Lotto
    - Nationwide for people who think the mutual status means they own it
    - Halifax for people who think it's a building society

    Stereotypes don't apply to banks. For example I'm 66 years old and my main bank is Starling Bank which is targeted at millennials. We might also consider the advertising: For example Lloyds Bank's advertising targets growing families.
