Deleting docs etc from Word 3rd Dec 17 at 3:45 PM
I have MS Office for Mac 2011.
although I don't often use it, only really for tuition purposes etc I seem to have some items that I can't delete.
e.g. an e-mail attachment, where the e-mail was deleted but I kept the attached document to forward later to someone, which I did.
The attached document is 11 pages long and I want to delete it.
Looked in all my files, downloads etc but no joy.
There are other, not just the e-mail attachment.

Can't believe this no doubt simple solution is baffling me.

These all seem to come under Recent Document list, just found another, an application for a licence, again about 10 pages, this was a download but is not in my download list?

the e-mail was deleted long ago.

The files are probably in a Temporary folder. (Not sure where this resides on a Mac ... maybe cd /tmp or open $TMPDIR from Terminal?).

Edit the doc with Word, and select 'Save as...'

The default location to save it to will be the location it opened from, so make a note of this location, exit the Save as dialogue, close Word, and use Explorer or Mac equivalent to open the folder you've noted down, and delete the doc from there.

Thanks googler, think I've done it, sent it to trash after i'd moved it to my documents, however can't find it in trash now.
It's not the end of the world but annoying.
