We are thinking of paying off 25k of our mortgage...the mortgage co will charge us £3000 ish for doing so. Anyone know any provider that doesn't charge for doing this ? Seems a lot of dosh to me....or a way to avoid paying it ?

If it’s an ERC related to the product, only way is to wait it out until the charge is no longer applicable

Just spread the overpayment - check how much you are allowed to overpay and also what your mortgage 'year' is.

All lenders will have some form of ERC on fixed rate deals
