    Are you suggesting that reports of the current Apple issue are incorrect? If so, why do you think Apple has issued instructions (dated yesterday) on how to change the root password? Just a meaningless coincidence?

    For anyone worried about this:

    Open up terminal

    Type in:

    sudo passwd -u root

    You'll be prompted for a password, put in the one you use to log into your account. You'll then be asked for a new password for the root account, set a strong one you can remember. You'll then be asked to confirm it, re-enter it, press return, job done.

    As for post #2, I'm not sure how it could be read as anything other than tongue in cheek, unless you have had a total sense of humour bypass.
