Civil Enforcement Claim - Bar on claim 24th Nov 17 at 9:16 PM
    Evening all,

I am asking this on behalf of someone else defending a claim from CEL who doesn't use this forum.

They were just about to send off their defence on the MCOL website, however, have no available options to do so as it states that "A bar has been put in place on this claim. You cannot respond to the claim at this time".

Can anyone shed some light as to what this may mean please?

    Thanks

    RR

Phone them up. Could be anything.

If you google the same statement, there can be multiple reasons.

+ 1 your friend will need to phone them up.

It is also difficult without knowing details such as date of claim issue, particulars of claim served etc

Although why are they trying to submit the defence on MCOL? this can be emailed directly to the court using

CEL have obviously done something wrong and the court has put a permanent or temporary bar on the claim. But to find out the D will have to phone them. Perhaps all our complaints are having some sort of influence (wishful thinking) ??? I am quite curious to know.

Had the defendant written in to complain about late/no further PoC? Or was this out of the blue?
