Overall, cryptos in general and Bitcoin Cash in particular look like 'investments' to treat in much the way one might treat an investment in the 2.15 at Epsom.

There are 2 types of people on MSE.

    1) Those that jump and down screaming ponzi and tulips

    2) Those that are making lots of money from crypto

If you want a technical discussion around crypto bitcointalk.org is the place to go.

    It's just a currency. That's all.

It's not an investment. It doersn't generate money.
It's not a productive asset like company stocks or debt instruments like bonds.
It's just speculation, just like any Foreign Exchange "punt".

If you want to "discuss" it, you could go to https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin and download the code using git, join their developer mailing list, go on IRC and chat with developers.

    That'd be as high-technical as you'd get I suspect.

    Thanks for the reply.

It sounds like there is no sensible or technical discussion of cryptos on MSE. So warnings about Bitcoin Cash being vulnerable to 51% double spend attacks would fall on deaf ears, to say the least.

Hmmm, I guess I'll have to look for a more grown up forum elsewhere. Thanks again.

For such technical issues, surely a developer list would be more suitable? The actual place where people WRITE the code for bitcoin software. They would probably be more open to your question - since they are working on the techical side of things, rather than salviating about potential financial gains.
