Halifax Debit Card Chargeback 26th Oct 17 at 1:39 PM
    Hi,
I purchased a camper van from TDS Ltd, saw the ad on eBay But did not purchase through eBay. Collected and paid for using Halifax Debit Card. Took the vehicle to a mechanic to check it over and turns out itís completely unroadworthy and useless. Can I claim a refund for this through Chargeback on my Debit Card?
Iím also going to look into reporting this company I canít believe they sold me a Ďdeathtrapí as my mechanic puts it when I turned up with my 2mth old baby. Despicable.

How was the condition described, how old is it? What have TDS said about the faults?

A link to the ad would be helpful.

Wouldn't it have been wiser to take a mechanic to check it before you bought it and not after?

Have you spoke to them to reject it yet?

Have you given them the chance to put it right?

You need to at least see what they first have to say before coming back for further advice.

Could this mechanic be looking to make a quid few quid out of you, there are dodgy mechanics that invent work too so don't rule that out either.

Listed as in good working order, definitely doesnít state unroadworthy or list the faults . Have a copy of the ad which Iím going to send to trading standards with my complaint and Iím reporting the MOT centre to the DVSA as they initially failed the van then passed it without doing any checks .
What Iím really trying to find out is whether my bank is likely to refund the amount paid through Chargeback?

You said you purchased from TDS ltd, is that the name they claim to operate under or have you perhaps shortened it yourself? Just TDS ltd are a freight company and not involved with the sale of motor vehicles. TDS motors ltd however do deal in used cars but they've only existed for 4 weeks as of today.

When you say the car is unroadworthy do you mean that the issues are specifically those which legally make the car unroadworthy (iirc in order to be unroadworthy it would have to be something which affected the brakes, steering or suspension)?

I have lost my dispute with Halifax chargeback scheme and am now completely stumped and would be grateful for any advice from anyone. I bought an iPhone on eBay which cost £205 and Royal Mail claim that they delivered it and falsified my signature. I was 25 miles away at the time and my husband was at work so no-one was in. I have tried eBay, Royal Mail, PayPal, the Police and the Halifax but everyone claims that Royal Mail delivered the item and have a signature so I have no claim. I can prove that.I wasn't here and the house was empty but no-one is listening. Clearly the Royal driver stole my parcel but his forged signature appears to be gospel and so I must be lying. Help! Any ideas please??

But you would be best advised to come up with something different to "Clearly the Royal driver stole my parcel...".
