    BT - switch to Plusnet / EE ? 9th Oct 17 at 12:52 PM
I've been a long term BT customer - currently on unlimited BT Infinity 1 (calls and BB). Contract runs out soon so looking at any savings and Plusnet seems to offer best price with EE not far behind (barr the price of connection and free router delivery).

Any opinions on eithers service/supply? Not changed phone supply in years and although paying more, service is strong - worried switch could give usage/service issues.
    Thanks

Price up what you want from PN and EE .
Contract ending tell BT you are leaving and see what they offer .

Thanks - I have prices laid out - I just wanted to know of any experiences of switching to either of these and what they are like for phone & broadband service. Don't want to switch if they have a known weaker service and/or customer service.

Had PN for years and found them good. As far as I remember, the switch went through quickly as did the upgrade to fibre 18 months ago.
There is sometimes a wait if you need to call them, but at least when you get through, there's usually someone who knows what they're doing & gets things sorted. There's a good community forum too.

I went from Sky to PlusNet ,the only 'hitch' being that my line was done late on a Friday, so the ADSL was done first thing on Saturday, so I was without it overnight.

Settling in took ages as my first speeds were low for more than the usual two weeks, with frequent drop outs and it took several 'techs' to sort, some saying the problem was easily seen with others having no idea. Then for most of the time my speed was a regular low 4Mbps (used to be 5 to 6+).

However ,after a chance comment on their forum, someone did another teak, meaning I have an extra greater than 1Mbps gain ,giving about 5.7 regularly, so I have stayed, after being given a good deal (10p/month more than last year).

I moved from BT to EE. It was an excellent choice. Very pleased with them.

I moved from BT to PlusNet. It was painful. Took several weeks before PlusNet sorted the poor connection speed. It was their error but they tried to blame Open Reach.
