Class 2 NI contributions - preserve State Pension entitlement? 8th Oct 17 at 2:04 PM
    A quick question.

Wife thinking of becoming self-employed for her last few years up to retirement age.

Totally unsure of what earnings would be - likely to be low - but needs these as qualifying years for State Retirement Pension.

Believe that Class 2 contributions are necessary - true?

If so, what level of earnings would be required?

Please feel free to point out any incorrect assumptions and any help very gratefully received!

I think that Class 2 ni is being abolished from April 2018. Search gov.uk.
