Closed Mint Credit card with a positive balance 8th Oct 17 at 10:32 AM
Hi - wonder if anyone can help?

I was just looking the my MSE credit club Experian files and noticed that I have an old Mint Credit card that I closed in 2013 that has a £ 2,600 credit balance on there.

I can't remember the circumstances behind it, so I don't know whether it's right or not.

Is it worth contacting Mint to claim back. If so, how would you go about it?

    Cheers

if you think they might owe you £2600, then yes, of course.
contacting RBS is the route, i believe..

I'd contact them and ask for the money.

I previously worked for RBS on a credit card department and delt with mint cards also. If you contact them directly and the credit balance is there they should be either able to send the funds as a bulk payment to a sort code and account number or close the account and send you a cheque. Without the card I don’t believe you’ll be able to balance transfer the funds out but I would get in touch ASAP and clarify.

I know that years ago you could keep your Mint card in credit (and get a decent credit interest rate) but how on earth could you forget a credit balance of £2600?
