Insurer won't reply or return calls

Insurer won't reply or return calls 1st Oct 17 at 12:32 PM
I had a sickness and loss of employment insurance. Then I was made redundant and made a claim. Now for three weeks I cannot speak to the person at the company, he won't return my calls. They have not refused my claim, they even have not confirmed whether they accepted it or not.

What can I do? My bills are mounting and my account goes to overdraft with consecutive penalties. Frustrating, to say the least.

ALL leagal notices must be served in writing by POST.
They can and will ignore you until you serve it.

Get certificate of postage as well.

It is not personal, it is simply business.
Brexit will become whatever they invent it to be.

Sorry, I am not that familiar with legal stuff. What notices we are talking about here? Does it mean I need to hire a solicitor?

    Thank you

Op, I assume that you've filled out a claims form that the company have sent to you. Has that happened yet? Which company is it?

What exactly has happened so far, part from the ignored calls?

The usual thing is that you inform them that you want to make a claim. That can be done by phone, email or snail mail, but I suspect that most claimers would phone as a first action. The company would usually agree to send you a claims form and tell you everything that they require from you to prove the claim.

All the forms have been completed, they asked for last 6 months payslips, termination letter and Job Seekers confirmation. On one of the letters from my HR dates were incorrect but this has now been sorted. I have not been told if my claim has been accepted or not and every time I call they are unavailable to talk to and never call back. I have been stonewalled.

    That sounds frustrating.

Is it a well known company?

They'll have a complaints procedure. Escalate the issue by following that.

    Ignore any advice from Marktheshark.

I can't offer any tips, but the complaints procedure should be in the policy documents.

I can't be of much more help because I've never claimed on this type of policy myself, but as others have said a complaint may make people sit up and take notice.

    Hope it goes well.

    Advent Solutions Management Limited.

Their site cannot be accessed, cannot find what their complains procedure is. Alarms are starting to ring.

I don't know much about the insurance business, but they look like a brokerage firm rather than a direct supplier of insurance. Their online presence doesn't look all that promising.

I'm sure the website was up yesterday but I can't get on to it either. They do have a facebook page, but it doesn't look very active.

    Sorry.

How did you take out the insurance? Through another company (employer) or directly with them?

Advent Solutions Management Limited still are not responding to my calls. Went to the brokers, they said they would look into to it and ... not a squeak after seven days deadline (they gave themselves) passed. I feel, I have been screwed up big time by the insurance company.

They appear to have a different address registered at companies house. Have you tried that one?
