Any money saving tips for blocking chimneys?

We have four, so buying chimney balloons or chimney sheep will be costly. The nights are getting very chilly already.

A small child... An old blanket..

If you have someone local that sells blocks of foam (we have a stall on the local market for that), get a lump big enough to seal the hole.
Her courage will change the world.

Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.

I assume that a black bag filled with material will be ok if you put a piece of 40mm waste pipe through the middle.

Thanks for all your suggestions; we have decided to find some old pillowcases and stuff them!
