What's your favourite public information film? Mine's The Effects of Gravity, which I can't find online.

There's plenty of other ones here.

I loved the "Charlie says..." ads: "Charlie says don't take sweets from strangers", "Charlie says always tell your mum where you're going", etc.

I now have a ginger cat called Charlie, and he often "talks" to me in a real Charlie voice - fortunately can't speak cat, as probably don't want to translate what he says to me!

A very old one was about road hogs.

    Can still see it.

It was in cartoon form, about a rude, nasty road hog, cutting people up, etc.

Cue the nice guys who said "After you!" "No, after you!"

I'll see if I can find it.

Another good one was the "Wear something white at night".

I wish they'd bring that back. Two nights ago, driving home late, someone crossed the road and I could barely see them. I was doing just under 30mph and had to brake because they were sauntering across the road, a black on black shadow. Scary stuff.

Edit: Here's the road hog one! Found it!

I remember there were ads showing how to parallel park properly. Reginald Molehusband was the incompetent parker who demonstrated how it's done.

All erased now. Ah well, we saved a few bob on buying new videotape so somebody must have thought it was worth doing.
