Ftb what is the process any help appreciated 12th Sep 17 at 12:15 AM
Hi im a first time buyer please help and answer all my stupid questions I've got deposit saved and money for fees ect. I've got my eye on a few properties but what us the process. Should I view them before looking at a mortgage or is there no point till I have sorted a mortgage decision I don't wnt to waste my time or other people's?? I've used the online calculators and seem ok for what I'm looking to buy but what the next step how do I get a mortgage in principle? And is this enough to start looking at property or do I need proper mortgage decision agreed.??
Also I live in the north east of England is it better to use a mortgage broker and are there any recommendations?
Please help what are the steps to go through

rather than ask people to write out basic facts why not use google so you can read them yourself?

have you tried to search for your answer yet? MSE even has its own guide on the subject:
    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/mortgages/house-buying-guide

alternatively there are several books written on exactly that subject, why not go down your library and borrow one of them for free?
