Changing broadband providers 11th Sep 17 at 4:51 PM
Hi there, I'm currently using Plusnet broadband but I'm thinking to change to a cheaper provider when my contract finishes in October. I own my BT box can anyone tell me if I will be able to use it if I change to Sky or another provider, also I'm not interested in getting a subscription for pay tv.

Router? I believe you'll be able to use it with most, apart from Sky, who. AFAIK, don't give out the required user name/password to set it up. They provide their own, pre-configured, but they're usually decent (ish) and cheap enough anyway with a new contract

Thanks to everyone that responded to my question, I rang Plusnet and was able to negotiate to stay on the same deal which is unlimited broadband for 19.95 a month, I could have got a cheaper deal with Sky but I decided to stay with Plusnet as I've had no problems with my connection and it's fast enough for my needs, so I figure it's better to stay with the devil you know.
