Nationwide FlexAccount Travel Insurance 11th Sep 17 at 4:21 PM
I've just been reading the new paperwork for my FlexAccount Travel Insurance. It says they are changing the conditions with effect from 31 October 2017.

The main condition to meet to keep the cover is:
You must pay £750 or more into your FlexAccount each month (without missing any payments). This doesn't include transfers from another Nationwide account. If you don't, your cover will end permanently and you won't be able to qualify again. [my bold]
I don't remember the 'missing any payments' in the paperwork from previous years and know that in some months previously I didn't make the £750 minimum pay-in but still got the cover renewed.

So it looks like they are tightening up the conditions and, on the face of it, missing a single monthly pay-in would mean the end of free travel insurance.

I think I'm going to set up a monthly standing order.... just in case.

This looks the beginning of the end

They are also only continuing cover from 1/11/17 for members who took out the account prior to 15 December 2016. Thus their newest account holders will have to now get cover elsewhere for any holidays booked to end any time from November 1st, 2017.

Well somebody has to pony up the big bucks for Garner...

I do have my pension going through so still ok, but very little of it stays at Nationwide - mostly the regular saver.

Assuming it relates to post #2, then no.

I have the Flexplus account mainly for the travel and breakdown cover. I know the monthly fee is going up next week from £10 to £13 a month, but I can't see anything about them stopping the travel insurance if, They are also only continuing cover from 1/11/17 for members who took out the account prior to 15 December 2016. This is the link from their page.
