Debt Free Year 10th Sep 17 at 8:30 PM
    Hi,

I've pretty much buried my head in the sand over the past 15 years about debt and what it means. I've always seen it as 'normal' to have debt for things, and never thought twice about it. Recently though, I have wanted to think about cutting down my work hours, and I just can't. I can't be the mum I want to be to my 4 year old because I need to work to make sure I can pay the bills and debts. That is when it hit home, that I can't continue like this. I am having a wedding reception in December, which I know is going to take up most of my 'spare' cash, but from January 2018, I will make a difference to my debts.

    Currently have
£485 0% credit card. It was £2000 in July, So I have been ensuring that I am working on it.
£7500 Tesco loan at 3.2% - Paying £220 a month and due up in Three years
£17,450 car loan. Car is in negative equity and I'm stuck in the PCP. The car also is over mileage and has damage. I am 10 months away from handing it back, but with excess mileage and damage, I am thinking this might not be the best idea. Currently paying £351 a month for this luxury that I am thinking I don't need. (I shouldn't have got it, but I did, I can't change what I have stupidly done, and now need to work on the best options).
I spend money every month on things I don't need, and really need somewhere to record and focus on what it is I am doing, and the inspiration to keep going when I see progress is being made.

I've started a written diary as well to try to help. If I pay off these debts, then I know that I will be £500 better off. In April, my phone is due up for renewal, and I have already looked at the SIM only deals which will take it to the £500 a month mark.

i am going to try to earn some extra per month to pay off the debts, which in the short term might reduce the time I have with my daughter.

    Here goes...

I really need to do this now.

Oh no, when is the superhero day? It would be an amazing costume but then I'm a little biased. He does love the film almost as much as I do though (probably thanks to me).

18th January, a neighbour brought it round. There are some flats at the end of our street and apparently they have had a few of our deliveries now. I guess the driver sees 7 on the flats and delivers it there.

Had a few messages on the dress so think it might move up a little bit.
It's still at £225. I have to pick it up tomorrow at 4pm and send more pics to one lady to prove it has been cleaned. The listing ends at 18.22pm tomorrow.

Back to work tomorrow for me. I am not looking forward to it at all.

Thanks. I said I’d be happy with £250, but also hoping for more like £300!

I need to collect it tomorrow straight from work. Hopefully they’ll pay immediately so it’ll take me out of my overdraft and I can buy fuel and shopping!

    Thanks,

It was busy. Just masses and masses of unpacking.

The dress sold for £230. One woman added a bid right at the last instant. The cleaners have messed up delivery of it and it meant that I’d lose out on another bid. They’ve put a box in for it for me and took some photos and text them for me to send.

Little one went dancing today. Had to buy her some new ballet and tap shoes and she wants the uniform. Next week she also wants the cheer leading outfit. I don’t want to refuse her so this money will help with that too.

One bag is currently at £21. A similar bag sold for £45 today so fingers crossed.

I have to take into account Ebay fees, PayPal fees etc. I’m not quite at the £300 mark I need and £500 that I desperately want to help with dental costs too.

Thanks for asking about work x

    Hi,

So bank has £108 in it. That's with the pay pal stuff. That includes spending on:
    fuel £30
    ballet and tap shoes £30

Despite all my efforts, I still don't have a ton of money in my account to pay for the dentist!

I cancelled my tutoring, I am really not feeling it at the minute so thought I would be better to have my night off that I need to rest rather than earn £30.

Posted on eBay item today and underestimated postage so out of pocket on it. Oh well, live and learn.

Also had chippy tea. Not good. £8 + £2.90 for postage.
Tomorrow I need food for the house so spendy spendy again. At least Monday is pay day. x

I kept the food shop low and used a small trolley to ensure I didn't over buy. It came to £33.19 so well under the £40 I thought. That included pull up pants, fabric conditioner, coffee and a few other things.

I need to get focussed like I used to be.

I've been using a cash back site as well and have earned about £50 that is due back to me in the next few months.

This months pay will be normal payments, and the photographer. A little bit off the credit card, but not great big dent in my debt like february will be.

February will take quite a chunk off my debt.
We have also started to over pay the mortgage by £97 every month to help bring that down as well.

Let's see how the rest of this week unfolds. I need a huge run of NSDs!

Yesterday spent £8.30 on a quick shop for bits. When will I stop?

Today cheerleading is cancelled so £4 saved, but I do need to post the handbag I sold. I got £28 for it so will be posting it this morning.

Work pay money already showing in my account which means I have started to pay off extras.

    This month I have
    Photographer
    Dentist

    Very expensive month.

In return I am going to sell my Apple Watch and fit bit to hopefully get £250 to help beat this debt.

    Happy weekend everyone x

Well today was interesting. I checked my bank account and i had been paid ready for Monday. I rounded down my bank account and sent a little to my loan as I won't be able to do anything huge this month.

I also bought a fitbit Alta to replace my apple watch for half the price that I hope to get for my watch. I put both that, and my fitbit flex on eBay to get around £230. I went in JL to get it as it had been reduced by £30 from when I looked yesterday. Whilst in there, a lady was also buying one and showed them that she could get it cheaper in another shop, and they reduced it by £3 for her. I know £3 isn't lots, but it is enough for me to feel like I have achieved something. it came to £96.99. I used £63 in vouchers so it was juts over £13 for me to get it. Spending still, but not as much as it could have been. This is why I wanted to get it today.

Hubby bought him and little one a smoothie, and I went into Nespres to get a coffee for free rather than paying £10 for one. Hoping this is the start of me not spending again.

Managed to not pop into a coffee shop near us and get a takeaway this morning. Very happy with that. Hubby also suggested on the way home we pop into Tes and Co and get some wine, but I refused and said we didn't need it. Currently enjoying some gin that was given as a Christmas present instead.

Tomorrow we have to travel over two hours to Lincoln. I have paid for the fuel as I used his car this week. That was £30 so hoping we get there and back, and I manage to get to and from work. I have snacks in the car for little one from the fridge so no spending there. Tomorrow might not be a NSD, but I will do my best.

    Happy Saturday night everyone xx
