Best Way to get to Anchorage 10th Sep 17 at 11:23 AM
    Hi all.

We have booked a cruise in Alaska next September for 7 days but would like to do some land trips before hand. We have started a very vague itinerary below but actually getting to Anchorage is proving confusing. Would it be better to go via Seattle or straight to Anchorage.
If its straight to Anchorage are there any reasonable priced carriers.

    Many thanks

Can't believe there are any direct flights to anchorage, skyscanner is the best place to search.

Are flights not included as part of the package?

Alaska airlines partner with BA and AA and fly Seattle to Anchorage, they're also very good, use google flights multi stop for a search, you'll have to wait for the return flights to go on sale towards the end of Sept.

Where in the UK are you?

Condor have a direct flight from Frankfurt to Anchorage. I know it's counter intuitive flying east to go west, but with the curvature of the earth it's only about a 9 hr flight, so quicker than going to Seattle and then up to Anchorage. Planes are pretty new and flights are reasonably priced.

IIRC you have to stop at least at Seattle (or other USA ports) there are no direct flights to Alaska.

    Brilliant place!

Icelandair fly to Anchorage via Reykjavik, if that's of any interest.
Seattle and Vancouver are both worth a few days in themselves
