Using Resolver to start claim 9th Sep 17 at 9:16 AM
I have been reading comments about using PPI claim firms and it seems overwhelming that this is a no-no as it is better to do it yourself.

I followed the link to take me to the Resolver PPI mis-selling complaint form and it only offers me 2010 and before, are you not able to do anything for accounts opened after 2010?

You can make a complaint by simply phoning the financial company concerned. Most will take your details there and then and start the complaints process.

    Or write if you prefer.
Or visit their website and complete their on-line form . .

You're much better off contacting them directly than using some 3rd party middleman.

Many companies had stopped selling PPI by 2010 or it they hadn't I would expect them to have thorough procedures in place to prevent PPI miss selling and a copper bottomed audit trail.

As said above, 2010 was when the PPI issue was already known and under full steam with complaints. So, the types of PPI that were bad or had bad sales processes were most likely gone by then. You are looking at only having MPPI and regular premium standalone PPI only retailed at that point (and those two are still retailed today as they are the good types of PPI).

Many had pulled out by 2008. So, 2010 is catching the stragglers.
