Visa for india 5th Sep 17 at 11:37 PM
My friend and I are going on a cruise which will stop at India (Goa and then Mumbai),

I know we need a Visa, but I don't know where to get them from. I called the Indian High Commission and they told me to go to an agency whom I called and they wanted £200 which includes their fees

Surely there must be somewhere cheaper?

Does anyone know where/if I can get it cheaper please?

Have you asked the agent or company through whom you booked the cruise?

There's an e visa scheme that is now valid for cruises. it's about £60 and good for 2 entries.

    You can apply online here

    http://www.vfsglobal.com/india/uk/Tourist.html

This is the site we use.

Costs around £120 for a one year visa

There is also the evisa which I havnt yet looked into but will be doing as we have just booked for Goa for christmas.

If you go to the Goa board on TripAdvisor, there's an excellent step-by-step guide to completing both types of visa applications.

    You might find this useful...

Just navigate to the parts that refer to India, and have a look at the Visa Application Pack for cruising into Indian Ports.

Blinkin rip-off. I'd never ever go on a cruise that involved having to purchase a Visa for a day or two. I notice you even have to get a Visa for India even if you decide not to go ashore!

I got a letter from the government the other day. I opened it and read it. It said they were suckers.
