    ~Make upto £10 a day in September 2017 ~ - everybody most welcome 31st Aug 17 at 10:30 PM
    Hello and welcome everybody

Happy anniversary Batgirl, your original forum thread is now 10 years old Same age as my DS this year.

This is the 121st month of this challenge, which was first started by Batgirl, in September 2007. A link here to the original thread as I am sure some of you are interested to read where it all began.

Thanks to Batgirl for starting it, lynnejk and ALL posters, for helping us to keep the thread going. Thanks to previous challengers who used to run this thread too, Rawdinosaur, Emmaglet, Nat21luv, Monkeynut, Sweetpeas, Purpleroses, JesaRose, MizMir.

I have decided to rename this challenge as reading posts, it seems to put people off thinking they HAVE TO make £10 a day.

    You don't.

The original purpose of this challenge was to help people to try and make an extra £10 a day on top of their normal income to help things along. Ie paying off debt, making savings, paying for holidays, overpaying mortgages etc.

That is exactly what this challenge is about, attempting to make extra income on top of your normal income to help you wherever you need it.

People start the challenge by setting a goal of £1 a day. Then when they find they are smashing this regularly, they up it to £5 a day. Some of us gluttons for punishment go for £10 a day. It really is entirely upto you. We only ask you to post what your goal is to help you keep motivated. Some days you make more and some days you make less, but aim for extra at the end of the month.

The idea is that everyone posts how they are making extra money and these shared ideas help all of us to learn new ways to help cut debt or earn/save money.

    What cannot be added:

    Wages from your main job

    What can be added:

    Overtime
    Income from a second job
    Daily clicks
    Interest
    Vouchers
    Mystery shopping
    And much, much more.

This board moves pretty quickly, so be sure to subscribe and read it regularly. Below are some ideas to get you started and a great place to read when you're in need of inspiration.

    Sell your old books/DVDs/CDs/games here:

Amazon.co.uk, play.com, webuybooks, zapper, CEX, MusicMagpie, and a few more too

Ebay - a place to sell anything and everything. (You will be suprised at what sells!)

Gumtree, Preloved, cquot, ebid, craigslist, vivastreet, netmums.com, trade-it , Friday ad, priceminster - these are all places you can sell items too.

Survey sites - mysurvey and pinecone, prolific academic tend to be the best but there are many more it really depends on you finding the ones that work best for you - toluna, harris poll, valued opinions etc

Join cashback sites like Topcashback and Quidco - type in surveys in the search engine and some will pay you to join up with them.

Mobile phone to recycle? Try http://mobilevaluer.com/ but also check other selling sites like ebay, Facebook selling, gumtree, etc.

etsy and folksy - If you enjoy making crafts why not have a go at selling them on etsy or folksy. They've been getting increasingly busier each year.

Trying to find other ways to make money? Check out the Boost Your Income board. It is full of ideas, including survey companies and product testing.

Want to help someone else out? Sign up through their referral on the referral board, and leave yours, so someone else can do the same for you.

Keep reading for lots more ideas on how to make more money each month.

This month's challenge is to try and make £300 (or any amount of course!).
lynnejk is assisting me and will create the challengers list and update it.

She will also be answering any questions she can help with and here for general advice. Having been a challenger for a while, she knows her stuff. Thank you lynnejk for your help.

Good luck everybody. Remember to post any questions or comments that you have, and let's go on encouraging each other throughout this month.

I'm aiming for £15 a day this month (£465 in total). Currently, almost halfway through the month, I'm at £167.93, which is only 36% of the way to my target........

A couple of bright (albeit small) sides: I have discovered the daily free scratchcards on my Slidejoy app, which award 1 Slidejoy carat a time. They offer 5 or 6 every day, which amounts to 35 more each week, translating into a whole extra 12 pence over the month! Speaking of which, if anybody who hasn't would like to try Slidejoy and needs a referral code, please try getslidejoy.com/r2/k2JIgT99opP7mk0AzdDUVg (I hope this is allowed here?).....

    Evening

£9.19 matched betting today. Have made back my annual fee now and so will start counting what I make again.

I recently signed up for solar panels. They were fitted this week and we are now generating our own electricity. I was sceptical like a lot of people but having looked into it I am sure we will be saving quite a bit. Probably won't be adding anything to this challenge from it for the time being at least as the savings will be paying for the panels for a while but still think it will be worth while. Watch this space.

Had a couple of other things to add but forgotten what they are so will check back tomorrow ...err today!

Mills, that's a trek to your bank, have you tried your local Post Office? my local bank closed due to being in a rural area and the Post Office accepts cash and cheques deposited using my debit card for the transaction, all free

I just download their paying in form from the website and post it off to the Swindon head office address that's on it together with the cheque/s. Even sent 1st class it's a massive saving on the cost of petrol visiting a branch. Only adds an extra day or two to the clearance time and well worth it for the time saved in actually going there.

Sorry, I wasn't around much yesterday. Looks like some new members have joined us. Welcome to one and all and good luck with your moneymaking

Had a nightmare few hours trying to successfully download and install a 'critical' Microsoft update that wouldn't install automatically. Had to have a few goes to get it to install manually, each one taking so long. I must have been faffing about for about 4 hours altogether. Seems OK now though

Had all sorts of probs yesterday with a Prolific study I was part way through. It was such an interesting one too, scheduled to take about 35 minutes for £3.50 so well worth it. Sadly, with all my laptop issues I ended up timed out. I've contacted the researcher but haven't heard back yet. I'm not expecting to be paid as only completed about half of it. Studes have been a bit sparse lately and I was hoping to get to another £20+ payout before the end of the month. Doubt it will happen now

I don't like Windows 10 much, I'm still getting to grips with all its functions, and only upgraded because Windows 7 was supposed to be much more risky security-wise and they were stopping support for it. I had plenty of problems with that version over the years but I was always able to fix things myself eventually. I never know where to find the info I want on Win 10 but that's probably just me as I'm not very techie

Eventually I managed to get into my settings and re-set my lappy to a previous date where I knew it was working okay. It took ages but seemed to work the trick and they didn't come back to try again. I wonder if they had lots of problems with that up-date as I happened to take it up quickly that day.

I'm not that keen on Win10 either but there wasn't any choice when I had to get a new lappy last year. I still feel I have to try to sort each problem as it surfaces and, as you know, I'm not very techie either, so it's often by trial and error

Yesterday I had to sit and watch the same message and spinner you mention, for over half-an-hour while it did an update and shut down and then again this morning for fifteen minutes when I switched it back on

I'm really not very impressed with this lappy anyway, and now I have to remember to turn off the charger as soon as it's charged else it gets too hot and switches itself off. Also it's so slow that it's like watching paint dry some days, and I do remember to clear all the carp every night and use my security system to clean it up every week. I know I should have bought a better one and now I'm saving up for a decent speed one - maybe Black Friday I might spot a decent deal.

Sorry for the long rant and post, but just to let you know I feel the same panic and pain
