New diary, I have been thinking about it for a while now. I have been back almost a year give or take two weeks and boy what a year that has been, reading back over my old diary.

The title of my new diary comes from a Lucy Spraggan song, which the lyrics fit the mood at the moment.

    Reflection on the past year:
    * Current debt is now - £8500, this doesn't include the OD or the BC (yet!)
    * Changed jobs four times and looking to move again, hopefully for the last time for a while
    * Moved house - This is my favourite one
    * Year Goals when I find them again are improving
    * Got a horrible situation with DS's ex-gf sorted
    * Still trying to get my MSE head to stay on, but I'm getting there slowly

    --------------------------------------------------------------------

There are still improvements that need to be made but overall I/we are getting there. I think carefully about anything I go to buy.

I am happy that I have rediscovered the survey sites and some new ones that I hadn't done before, my overall plan for next year is to build a stash up towards Christmas and birthdays, making 2018 as frugal as I can

There are still things in the house that need sorting/unpacking/binning but it does feel like home and the kids love it and that to me is all that matters

I like trying to get the most out of £2 per day, how sad is that?

So as the song goes 'We won't abandon this ship. We are unsinkable'

Thanks, interview done and dusted lovely company that seem very stable. Lots of work coming in and they'll need more DC's as they grow. He's got a few more to interview next week & will make a decision on the 19th. He stated that first impressions were that I appear nice and certainly more experienced than the others he's to interview (I'm taking that as a positive sign!)

Glad you had a lovely holiday. Can not believe that someone sold your Nectar points. How does that even happen? Hope you get them back. Fingers crossed about the job. x

    Morning,

I'll start off with the bad things:

DH's car needed new brakes and pads total cost £1K
BC has gone up due to above
DH's needs new tyres - not done yet
We had crap pizza last night and won't order from that place again
DH had a prang in his car 50/50 blame but still his excess to pay

    Good things:
DD got off to a brilliant start at secondary school and is beating her brother with reward points.....she has 30, he has yet to get off the starting blocks
DS has looked after his sister at school this week and helped her settle in
    Meal plan worked well
AFD's and NSD's going ok too

So a mixed bag this week, not happy about the car but his company insist on image as they (inc him) see lots of clients which in turn creates revenue.

Moving on as I'm not dwelling on it.

    Things to do today:
Washing and can hang out for a while before it rains
Food shopping, only need top up bits
Need to do some work, will make it easier next week
Cooking for next week if needed

Shame about DH's car. I know the feeling as DH's van has breaks to get and a new (Well second hand new) exhaust. But if his company is all image.....do they not pay for the car?

He more annoyed about the fact he's done 13,000 miles and they needed doing where as the car before this one he'd done 20,000 miles and never needed to change the brakes or tyres in all that time.

    Ouch to the car bills!

That's annoying about the nectar card too, someone stole my subway ( ) card points once and they did give them back, but blamed me even though my card was supposedly used the other side of the country!

    Morning PMO2,

Wow what a week for you! So glad the kids are settled into school well.

Boooo to the car, they say it comes in 3's and I'm sure you've had your 3 now.

    Have a lovely weekend xx

    Afternoon,

Had quite a productive day so far, although the rain scuppered hanging out most of the washing, two loads are dry and the rest is going in the TD.

Good deed done for the day....DD's old uniform bits have been passed on to the girl over the way, great fully received

    Dishwasher has been cleaned.

Few more bits to do but cuppa first I think

    Morning,

Back to the routine once again although I hate Monday's.

DS has a black tie event on Saturday night for Cadets, so need to get money out to pay for it.

Need to get DH's prescription today too and DD has asked for some nail polish remover. Won't be a NSD today

8 days until I find out if I've got the job

Aiming for a few AFD's and NSD's this week.

Lunch has been made for today and I've enough bits in my drawer that I shouldn't need to spend much.

    Morning,

Managed another AFD last night, I'm trying to break the habit of drinking Mon to Thurs. Some weeks are more successful than others but this time I'm trying to keep a record.

LTW is going good so far, ham and pickle today.

    Should be a NSD today

DH's car gets picked up today to be fixed.

Forgot to mention too, DH fixed the blinds in the kitchen. They were left by the old owners and wouldn't work, they do now so I can pull them down.

Hope everyone is ok and not as wind blown or wet as yesterday x

    Morning and Happy Hump Day

I can't remember if I mentioned it here or not but DH had a bump in his car last Thursday, rear end is a mess, 50/50 blame with someone else. Total excess of £330 to pay

DD starts Guides again tonight, looking at the newsletter they've lots coming up, so she'll be a happy bunny.

Didn't make my lunch last night, naughty I know, so it'll be something cheap and cheerful.

Not an AFD last night either but was a LAD so not too bad

Need to pick up some milk and buns tonight.

Haven't managed to do any surveys this week, so will try and get some done the remainder of the week....wonder if PA are back on track again?

Afternoon, on the slippery slope to Weekend

Had a bit of a heart stopping moment this morning when I checked the bank account and there was Zero money in the account upon checking, the account had caught up and a few DD's have gone out...I have amended things and transferred money over to cover what is also due out over the next few days. DH's expenses are due in next week too.

We may just scrape through to the end of the month intact if we can keep up the momentum.

I am seriously itching to know if I have got this job that I applied for, it would make the finances easier in October and onwards. Only 5 days to wait!

I'm also worried, lloyds bank are changing their fees for the OD's. I can't work out how much they'd charge us for ours? We could potentially pay it off if DH gets a big enough commission bonus in November but if its not going to be too high, I'd rather just leave it. Wait and see I guess.
