    Great to see this story.

    Earlier this year Europcar charged me over £560 'in lieu of repair' for a tiny bumper scratch (few mm) on a vehicle that was probably just missed in the pre-rental inspection. The 'supporting information' that accompanied the invoice for this ridiculous amount included over £150 for paint, a charge for 8 hours labour and various fees without adequate explanation.

    If there's any kind of class action following the SFO or Trading Standards investigations I'll throw my hat into the ring.

    It's too little too late IMO, most if not all of the car hire companies are pulling these scams.
