Nationwide complaint 11th Jul 17 at 9:18 PM
Not sure if this the right thread, apologies if it's not.

Just need some advice really. I sent out a letter of complaint to Nationwide on 13/06/2017 in regards to opening a current account which was a disaster. They replied back on 20/06/2017 saying the complaint had been acknowledged and they hope to be in a position to get back to me today 11/07/2017, which they haven't. So after the morning post, I called them to ask about the status (I completely understand that they have 56 days altogether to get back to me) and was told that the case had not been assigned a handler, and they had sent out another letter today, which was read out to me over the phone saying that they hope to get back to me by 08/08/2017 - so that means more waiting.

Should I wait until 08/08/2017 before going any further? I'm slightly disappointed to know that nobody has even looked at my complaint. Is there anything I can do? or do I just simply wait?

    Thank you

You wait. There's nowhere else you can go until you have exhausted the complaint process.

Are you a Nationwide customer now, or is your complaint about not being able to become one?

    Link doesn't work for me.

I suspect this is the original thread:http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=5662417

Thanks TadleyBaggie and cerdigion. So it seems there is significant history to the case and the complaint is about not being able to become a Nationwide customer.

OP, if I were you, I'd be looking to get an account elsewhere, assuming you still need one. If you haven't yet done so, you should also check your CRA files before making any new applications.

I have always found them very good at dealing with complaints and have always come down on my side. Be patient!
