Jewellery Investment 9th Jul 17 at 7:58 PM
    Hi there!

I was wondering if it is a good idea to invest money in Jewellery (particularly ruby, gold and diamonds)? Considering the drop of the pound I would like make investments, but do not really know how to go about it. I read highstreet jewellery stores are usually not the best in terms of value due to the high VAT. Not necessarily looking for the cheapest, but for the one with highest value for the price.
And if jewellery is a good investment option, can you recommend any particular stores?

    Thanks!

Jewellery carries a 50% to 300% markup on the high street, doesnt sound like a good starting point for an investment to me.

I would have thought vintage jewllery from well known makers like Chanel or Cartier would be the way to go but fashion and trends change over time that could impact resale price.
