Paid with wrong debit card. 7th Jul 17 at 10:03 PM
Hi all I paid 2 bills today (water,tv) then noticed I picked my partners card up instead... They is enough funds in the account to cover it thank god... We both bank with Barclay's.

So all my partners card details were put in correctly (16 digit, end date, 3 digit on the back) but instead of my partners name I put mine as I presumed it was my debit card.

Will the payments still go through? The payment has been set aside and is pending.

    Thanks

    Is it a joint account?
I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?

How did you pay? Was it online?
If so the payments either went through or would have been rejected at source.

What do you mean by by payment set aside?
What goes around - comes around
give lots and you will always receive lots

Card payments are normally verified against house number and postcode so the payment should go through as I don't think it gets validated against cardholder name.

I was going to suggest trying the same thing, but with something which is immediately verifiable, to see if it works ; however, recipients may be different, so that wouldn't prove anything.
Can you phone Customer Services, of the recipients ?

Are you very close / now past, the payment due by date ? If it is a small amount, it might be worth paying the bill with your card ( + £1 to identify them ) ; just in case it gets bounced.
