Natwest mortgage PPI denial 7th Jul 17 at 9:48 PM
I had a mortgage with NatWest and found they had charged me an unreasonable paperwork fee which I discovered could be claimed back.

I claimed but had a long fight before settling for less than I was due, rather than keep fighting (they even acknowledged they had overcharged me but stated, quite blatantly, they were not going to repay me, anyway. Amazing attitude).

I then sent them a letter asking if I had paid any PPI and they sent me a letter back saying they never charged ANYONE for PPI insurance, on their mortgages, so "no".

Is that reply likely to be verbatim or can banks be economical with the truth, in such matters?

What did you actually ask the bank, was it "did I have any PPI policies with you to protect my mortgage?" or "did the bank include a (hidden?) charge for PPI in the mortgage payment?" their reply would seem to indicate the latter question was asked.

My guess is that you've shortened it though.

I'll dig out the correspondence and post the exact wordings.

    Thanks for the reply.
