Cat Vs Fox 6th Jul 17 at 7:58 PM
We were woken up last night by a noise outside
I looked out of the window to see one of our cats chasing a large fox down the road - they disappeared round the corner and five minutes later - our cat came back in through the catflap and ran into the bedroom with what looked like a contented smile on his face !

In all seriousness though be careful.

Many moons ago we found one of our cats lying in the garden, unable to stand on her back legs. The vet, after X-rays showed no broken bones, shaved her back to find puncture wounds.

His verdict was that he didn't think it was a dog but more likely a fix had got her.

    Unfortunately she died soon after

Foxes pose little danger to cats

Foxes pose little danger to cats. But, like any other dog, foxes will chase cats. Generally, though, when faced with the claws and teeth of a cat, foxes will back away, knowing they will probably suffer a serious injury in any fight. ... But many fox cubs are killed each year by pet cats and dogs

Generally cats and foxes will not fight.

They cat will initially defend its territory until it realises the fox means no harm. Then they will usually just keep a mindful eye on the other. Your cat is more likely to fight other cats.

Maybe both parties had a good time, and it was one-all.
