Make upto 10 a day in July 2017 - everybody most welcome 30th Jun 17 at 8:02 PM
    Hello and welcome everybody

This is the 119th month of this challenge, which was first started by Batgirl, in September 2007. A link here to the original thread as I am sure some of you are interested to read where it all began.

Thanks to Batgirl for starting it, lynnejk and ALL posters, for helping us to keep the thread going. Thanks to previous challengers who used to run this thread too, Rawdinosaur, Emmaglet, Nat21luv, Monkeynut, Sweetpeas, Purpleroses, JesaRose, MizMir.

I have decided to rename this challenge as reading posts, it seems to put people off thinking they HAVE TO make 10 a day.

    You don't.

The original purpose of this challenge was to help people to try and make an extra 10 a day on top of their normal income to help things along. Ie paying off debt, making savings, paying for holidays, overpaying mortgages etc.

That is exactly what this challenge is about, attempting to make extra income on top of your normal income to help you wherever you need it.

People start the challenge by setting a goal of 1 a day. Then when they find they are smashing this regularly, they up it to 5 a day. Some of us gluttons for punishment go for 10 a day. It really is entirely upto you. We only ask you to post what your goal is to help you keep motivated. Some days you make more and some days you make less, but aim for extra at the end of the month.

The idea is that everyone posts how they are making extra money and these shared ideas help all of us to learn new ways to help cut debt or earn/save money.

    What cannot be added:

    Wages from your main job

    What can be added:

    Overtime
    Income from a second job
    Daily clicks
    Interest
    Vouchers
    Mystery shopping
    And much, much more.

This board moves pretty quickly, so be sure to subscribe and read it regularly. Below are some ideas to get you started and a great place to read when you're in need of inspiration.

    Sell your old books/DVDs/CDs/games here:

Amazon.co.uk, play.com, webuybooks, zapper, CEX, MusicMagpie, and a few more too

Ebay - a place to sell anything and everything. (You will be suprised at what sells!)

Gumtree, Preloved, cquot, ebid, craigslist, vivastreet, netmums.com, trade-it , Friday ad, priceminster - these are all places you can sell items too.

Survey sites - mysurvey and pinecone, prolific academic tend to be the best but there are many more it really depends on you finding the ones that work best for you - toluna, harris poll, valued opinions etc

Join cashback sites like Topcashback and Quidco - type in surveys in the search engine and some will pay you to join up with them.

Mobile phone to recycle? Try http://mobilevaluer.com/ but also check other selling sites like ebay, Facebook selling, gumtree, etc.

etsy and folksy - If you enjoy making crafts why not have a go at selling them on etsy or folksy. They've been getting increasingly busier each year.

Trying to find other ways to make money? Check out the Boost Your Income board. It is full of ideas, including survey companies and product testing.

Want to help someone else out? Sign up through their referral on the referral board, and leave yours, so someone else can do the same for you.

Keep reading for lots more ideas on how to make more money each month.

This month's challenge is to try and make 310 (or any amount of course!).
lynnejk is assisting me and will create the challengers list and update it. CHALLENGER LIST IS POST 8.

She will also be answering any questions she can help with and here for general advice. Having been a challenger for a while, she knows her stuff. Thank you lynnejk for your help.

Good luck everybody. Remember to post any questions or comments that you have, and let's go on encouraging each other throughout this month.

Love that our partners ridicule everything we do but when it benefits from, they are interested.

Mine still gives it large that I am wasting my time, doesn't mind when he receives next vouchers from my waste of time schemes or free days out to theme parks.

Well done to you.we are proud of you and rejoicing in your moneymaking.

I too got notification today that I have been accepted.

Thanks. I have seen a few charity shops refuse stuff when helping with clearing village jumble sales etc. It can be hard to get rid of stuff. Makes me want to buy less and contribute less to our future landfill sites (plus save money in the short term too of course).

It's a good total but all spent already! just done a quick few payments off our cards and ready for the next batch of ebay selling... I haven't sold anything on there for a few years so I need to get my head around the postage rates etc.

Just done some balance transfers between credit cards...that'll save a bit in the long term... I HATE credit cards... blooming trap you into debt so easily! But we all need fuel and food for our families! I wouldn't mind so much if I had used them for lifes' luxuries!

    Evening lovelies

Hiya Jelly - I've added you to the challengers' list (post 8) and good luck with the challenge.

Hope you've all had a great day - and most of you have probably enjoyed some sunshine Just for a change we've had rain again. Am starting to wish I'd taken the 'ark-building course' now

Well done all those adding to their funds again today - great to see all the diverse ways as well

Unfortunately I can't join the postal thingies because I don't have a street letterbox, being I live in a block of flats with a security entrance. Oh well - you can't win them all eh

I am having a big paper sort and clear out, as I want to reorganise some of the storage in the cupboards. So I am fast approaching that point when there is so much 'stuff' lying around that you wish you hadn't started I am determined to plough on though, as I am having to sit and go through all the files carefully before discarding. Well what do you know........Wimbledon just happens to be on the television doesn't it

Hope you all have a fandabadosy Friday

Good luck with your paper sort-out. I have bursts of trying to do mine but before I throw anything out I have to read it first, mainly to work out what the heck I saved it for in the first place. It's definitely not a job that can be completed quickly is it? I do have fairly regular culls though and at least I'm not as bad as OH who never throws any paperwork away. He has payslips going back to his first job and he's been retired for years. As for bank statements, he could wallpaper the house ten times over with them.

As everyone knows, it's impossible to sort out paperwork without Wimbledon on TV. Sadly, we had a power cut in the village for about 3 hours late this afternoon so I missed a lot of good action

I have insomnia! I went to bed admittedly quite late at 1am, got up at 2.30am after being awake nearly the whole time and have been awake and wired since then.

This meant I had plenty of time to load 5 items on ebay, looks like they could all be easy sales (I am selling my old slimming world recipe books)

Just a quick update on my car which I thought would be eye-wateringly expensive to put right. I worried for nothing as the mechanics tested it thoroughly and could find no trace of whatever caused the alarming issue with warning lights and fault warnings coming on and scaring me silly a couple of weeks ago.

Had it fully checked out, a full service and MOT (which it passed with no advisories) all for 150. To say I'm over the moon is an understatement. This car is so old but it's been a great friend and I hope it gives me a few more years of relatively trouble-free and cheap motoring. It still looks reasonable in the bodywork, doesn't look a heap at all, but I've never been one for show anyway even when I had the money to be.

Back again. Sorry to monopolise the thread today

Just received 8 from the postal survey and 16.44 for Amazon sales.

When I was cleaning the inside of my car before taking it for it's MOT etc I found 1.70p under various seats but I'm not adding that as it was just my own money

Oh...I'd add it CBC!! Fantastic news on the car. m really happy for you! Really bores me forking out money for cars as you dont see anything for your money. I can remember years ago when we lived in our first house and barely a penny to our names.......our car was going to cost over 400 to get it through its MOT. I cried.

Think we borrowed the money off my parents but that feeling is horrible.

Coincidentally I had an email from the Quotas international postal survey this week asking me to return a transponder which I'd logged as received but which they hadn't had back after 2 weeks. They asked if I'd forgotten to post it and still had it at home and to have a good look for it. I always post them back the very next day after receipt, they're the easy ones as our ordinary village street postbox will do for that job.

I was worried that I might be kicked off that survey panel too but I emailed them and told them I'd already posted it and gave the date. They said not to worry, these things sometimes get lost in transit. Surprised me a bit as I assumed the whole point of the transponder was that it's progress through Royal Mail's system was totally trackable.

For anyone that does Neobux......they are no longer using paypal.
