Cheapest way I've found to get rooms in hotels is to get on there mailing list for notifications when they have sales on which is usually early in the year as they look to fill rooms for the remainder of the year. You could try some of the hotel comparison sites by going thru TCB or quidco as well, I'm not sure if Galgorm comes up on there searches or not. You can also afaik just book the spa facilities without staying and B+B it elsewhere in the neighbourhood.

Been there twice. Its very nice. Very busy though

I'd also recommend the Slieve Russell (again, can be busy) and Cabra Castle for its quirkiness.

We've booked the Clanree Hotel for a couple of nights in August. Seems to get good reviews and relatively speaking wasnt expensive either, but thats Donegal not Cavan

Sorry, but £191 for a bed and some breakfast that probably costs approx. £10 per guest is still a rip-off!!

Highly ironic that it is located on the outskirts of Ballymena with Ballymena folk renowned for their frugalness.

I have only heard good things about Clanree, although I have never been there.

Its not a rip off in so much as
    • Nobody is forcing you to pay it
    • Its pricing is in line with other hotels of that calibre

Clanree is lovely - and very good value most of the time.

The Farnham estate is on groupon sometimes - my parents got 2 nights B&B for about £130 and that included credits for use in restaurant and spa

Galgorm is grand. What it does it does well. 4 star hotel with a 5 star spa and 4 star rooms. I think it's expensive for a 4 star and about right for a 5 star. Not good value but not horrific.
