Haven't even got out of bed yet and I'm irritated.
-The badly behaved cat peed in the laundry basket so all my summer clothes have had to go back in the wash and I'll have to wear jeans today.
-I've pulled a muscle in my leg and have to drag it behind me, quasimodo style
-OH ate all the bread so I can't have toast for breakfast

Except that our accounts aren't unused!
    Very much the opposite!

Just been told my password to MSE has expired, and I had to make another one before I could log in again.

    ???

    Is this normal?

Yep, my password was 832 days old and needed to be changed! I thought I'd stumbled on to some fake website/scamming type thing to begin with.
But new password is set up anyway, which I will immediately forget and never be able to log in again.

Well, I was told mine had expired (71 days old).
Changed it and wouldn't let me log on, so clicked the forgotten password link and reset it to what it was originally ...

11th day without an alcoholic drink, but I'm beginning to feel like I want one!

Bit suspicious though...I wonder if they've had a hack/leak and that's why everyone needs to change passwords?

You would hope that we'd be told in that case.

Presumably there has been some sort of security issue that we are not being told about.

I've just had the same message, as my password was 400+ days old...trouble is I had to put my old one in first and could I remember it?? could I heck as like.. I had 3 attempts and got them all wrong, before deciding to look in a book I'd written it down in..lol
Then couldn't log in with the new one took another 3 attempts.

And the "experts" say that everyone should have different passwords for everything. I have trouble remembering how old I am or what year it is occasionally.

I think I use about 5 or 6 different passwords for all websites,

I find it irritating when a website tells me when resetting a password that I have already used that one or tells me my numbers, letters, capital letter combi doesn't fit their criteria.
