Just been quoted 4360/yr for car insurance! 16th Jun 17 at 3:51 PM
Hello, I've just been quoted 4360/ yr for car insurance on a second-hand car, then quotes between 3000 and 1600! Each time being told over the phone that these were competitive rates. I have been out of UK for 8 years working full time in a European country. I have an EU driving licence now, but my original one was issued in the UK when I passed my test in 2005. When I passed my test in 2005 I wasn't even paying this much on car insurance.

I haven't been given any guidance or reasons for the high quotations, but I wonder if it is because I hold a full clean EU drivers licence and no longer a UK one. Can anyone help me? I have just got a job offer as a care assistant and will therefore need a car to carry out the job, but may end up rejecting the offer as I will struggle to pay car insurance at these rates.

How do I get a reasonable rate on car insurance in my circumstances?

Make sure you have the right cover...

Care assisant to one place of business or to several clients? Will you be carry a client at any time?

    You may need business use.
