Carers allowance and 30 free hours childcare 15th Jun 17 at 9:00 AM
    Hi
Not sure if posting in right forum. Hope so.
Basically, I claim carers allowance and I'm wanting to do some part time work of 16 hours which will be £120 a week. Carers allows me to earn £116 a week after tax.
My question is to qualify for these 30 hours I need to earn 120 before tax, I will earn £120 then £5 taken out for pension a month by the comoany. So will this still allow me me qualify for 30 hours plus my carers?
    Thank you

You'd have to pay at least £8 per week into your pension to still claim carers allowance.

I believe that you should qualify for 30 hours free childcare if the sum of your employed/self-employed income + carer's allowance is at least £120 per week. Carer's allowance is taxable.

The OP is asking about still getting carer's allowance not 30 hours childcare.

The OP needs to earn no more £116 after tax to get carers allowance.
