    Quick Part 18 Request question

Quick Part 18 Request question 15th Jun 17 at 4:24 AM
    Hello.

I have received a County Court Claim Form from CIL and I have a couple of quick questions.

Do I send a Part 18 Request to CIL themselves and no-one else? I ask as they mentioned solicitors (Wright Hassell) in a previous letter? (I was suprised to find they do actually exist.)

Should I do this by a letter in the post rather than email?

The County Court Claim Form states "I will provide the defendant with separate detailed particulars within 14 days after service of the claim form."

Does this affect what I should do in relation to the Part 18 Request? It said elsewhere that certain other companies don't bother replying, does this mean that CIL does?

I will be filling out the reply online stating I disupte the claim and will leave the defence box blank, as mentioned on other threads.

    Thanks!

That should be CEL (Civil Enforcement Limited), not CIL.

Have you seen the court guide by Bargepole in post 2 of the NEWBIES. I think this tells you what to do and when.

A p18 just allows the claimant to address their deficiencies. Better to highlight them in your defence.

No point anyway with CEL, they'll just capitulate when you file a robust defence like so many others have on this forum

Wait to see what's in the particulars in 14 days.
I've never seen a PPC file separate particulars, although it is a perfectly legitimate procedure.
