Should read: MSE source of fluorescent light tubes

    Hi!

I need to replace an eight year old tube bulb. Any ideas on reliable and competitively priced shops/websites?

    Thanks

They're fragile and don't travel well as single tubes. Try Screwfix.

Try CPC Farnell, I order these regularly for work and have never had a broken bulb in transit yet.

I usually go for packs of 20 - 25 bulbs and each time they're very tightly packed to avoid movement/damage in transit.

On the odd occasion I have had to report damage to CPC their customer services has been very good, and depending on the value, they usually advise you to dispose of the item and apply a credit to the account.

Are you sure it's the tube? I thought I needed one, but luckily I twigged it was actually the starter that had gone. A replacement cost me something like 36p from RS components - including delivery!

Casper's right, always try replacing the starter first.

Looked up starters on RS components - so now know what you mean.
