Advice for a full HD camcorder - about £60.00. 12th Jun 17 at 3:23 PM
    Hello,

I am after camcorder as a present for a friend.

They are getting into recording blogs/video lessons to publish online and are currently using a mobile phone and laptop webcam.

I would like to get them something a bit better in the form of a camcorder.

What can you recommend (if anything) around the £60.00 mark? Will pay a little more if really cannot get anything at that pricepoint.

I have found loads of decent looking ones on Amazon but don't recognise any of the names - slightly worrying, but some of them have very good reviews.

    Thanks in advance.

Go Pros although action cams make good camcorders.

Mobile phone cameras are very high spec these days ..

I dont think you are going to find a camcorder that would produce better results for anywhere near your price bracket

    Thank you.

Having done a bit more research, I have found a couple that might be suitable:

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01MS1484L/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A37PW6QVUNO8XE&psc=1

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B019IRAVDG/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=A37PW6QVUNO8XE&psc=1

They are very similarly specced and the reviews for both are very good.

If you had to choose the better one out of these two, what would it be?

One was released 2 years ago, and I would take the reviews with a pinch of salt, one person said "its got wifi", no it hasn't !

Yeah, those reviews look pretty fake to me. Lots of one-time-only reviewers writing in Chinglish. I especially like the review from "Jeanette" who is about to become a father!

Wow - thank you. Have just re-read the reviews and they are definitely suspicious to say the least - cannot believe I was almost caught out by that!

Go Pros are very expensive, so probably cannot go for one of those.

What else does that leave that might fit the bill?

This looks good (and has some reviews by native speakers) but the lack of zoom is a hit disappointing:

It's always worth running products through reviewmeta. It's not conclusive, but can be illuminating
