Frozen Pension 11th Jun 17 at 3:17 PM
I was told in 1998 after leaving my job after 12 years in the civil service my pension would be frozen, but I have never heard anything since is there a way of being able to check this as I have no documentation.

It is unlikely to be frozen. It is more likely to be deferred.

When you are no longer an active member, you don't get an annual benefit statement any more. The last one you were issued with remains valid. You can contact them and ask for an up-to-date statement of benefits.

    Try here http://www.civilservicepensionscheme.org.uk/members/deferred/information-for-deferred-members/
There's the following link to a form:
I think I was a member of the Civil Service Pension Scheme in the past - how do I check?
You can request that we check any pension you may have using the information or change request form.

MyCSP don't send deferred members annual statements but it's not a bad idea to check what information they have about you. They were only formed in 2013 and are reliant on what your previous pension administrator transferred over.
