You will not lose any data with an update to iOS 10.3.2

You need a solid WiFi signal (it won't update over 3G or 4G, not sure why). You also need a well charged battery and preferably have the phone on charge too.

The update will reboot the phone, it will appear to take an eternity to come back to life, don't panic it will take several minutes.

You will receive warnings from some older apps that they will cease to work with the next update (iOS 11?). One such app is the pretty useless BT phone book one.

And to be on the safe side back up your iPhone 6 to iCloud and iTunes.

get it done before September, as there will be a major new version out then. (probably full of bugs, and user interface changes you don't need)

As I type on this forum I'm typing away and the cursor is off the screen. I just have to be careful typing. It didn't do that before.

I'm managed to turn off predictive text and that's an improvement.

As an example, my stock Galaxy S7 has Facebook and Deezer (amongst others) preinstalled with no way to remove, and that's on a non network branded firmware.

You can even remove stock apps on iOS nowadays.
